well.. op is over. quite funny, had a young caucasian female anaesthetic specialist ( what's the term for it?) and an old "uncle" type nursing assistant both reassuring me in the operating theatre, one in Aussie and the other in Singlish/Chinese. Did they realise they were saying roughly the same thing?
oh.. and heh. the operating bed is heated? small things to improve the whole experience. typing one handed now, kind of slow...

Glad you've survived your ordeal and are enjoying some comforts. I was quite happy my first time at the doctor here in Singapore to be greeted by Aussie nurses. Somehow that accent is very cheery to me. Perhaps I need to plan a long weekend in Perth.
definitely, totally, truely addicted.
One of the things I would enjoy about Singapore more once I've built up a bit more savings: Is really convenient to travel out to Australia, Bali, SEAsia, HK, Phuket, Batam, etc. A bit like when I was in UK or Palo Alto and weekend trips were so convenient.. But here it's quite a bit more expensive than a 10 quid economy train fare or a 4 hour car-ride down the coast...
